I would need to know what your axle capacity is to see what it would take to go up to the larger size. But I would also need to know what bolt pattern you have. It does seem that you are a little over capacity so that would be what I would think is the issue. I have personally not heard of any gasket maker ever being needed to seal the hub but I also don't see how this could hurt either so it's really just up to what you prefer. The Loctite RTV 598 High-Performance Silicone Gasket Maker part # LT37467 would work if you do choose to use the gasket maker as recommended by the trailer manufacturer.
